Questions Are The Answer

Too many times in life do we sit and contemplate what our life is, where we're going, why we do the things we do, and most importantly, why we are the way we are. Well you see, these are all questions; questions that we have the power to control.... or not control. The way life is is quite binary, either we take control of our life, or our life takes control of us.
One significant way we can retake control of our life is to ask ourselves the right questions. Instead of finding disempowering questions like, "Why does school have to be so hard?" or "Why do I never have time to do what I want in life?" We will find exactly the answers we are looking for. As human beings, we have a supercomputer lodged between our ears, a computer that answers any question we ask at an alarmingly fast and rapid rate. Instead of asking yourself questions, instead, think of the answers you're wanting to find.
Lets take the second hypothetical question that I asked for instance, "Why do I never have time to do what I want in life?" This question you ask yourself means you are trying to find more reasons for why you don't have any time, and more importantly, any control over your life. You will continually find reference points for the type of questions you ask yourself. So instead, do yourself a favor and begin contemplating the answers that you are trying to find. Clearly, in this case, you want to try to find more time in your day-to-day routine (not less) to include things that you are passionate about.
So, instead ask more empowering questions. Questions framed around the answers you are ever so desiring to find. Ask yourself, "Where could I make more time to do the things I want to include in my day?" Whether it be exercising, drawing, learning about that new subject you have been wanting to learn about, watching that documentary that has been recorded on your DVR, reading that book (or stack of books) that has been on your shelf for months that you keep telling yourself that you'll get to. Whatever the case may be, the question you want the answer to remains true: you want to find more time, so instead of asking yourself why you don't have time at all, ask yourself instead of how you could create time.
As this is one minute example, it can be used for all areas of your life. Simply take the problem that is in your life, and think about the solution you want to have. The questions that we continually ask ourselves will create the movement we will ultimately have in our lives. In beginning to ask ourselves the questions we need to ask in order to give ourselves the answer to knowing, we must first know what it is we want to create the most movement, or the most gain in whatever area we have identified as needing improvement.
There have been many alternative expressions centric around the saying, "your focus becomes your reality" and I love to tell you that it is well into the realms of truth. In addition, it is not only the questions that you ask yourself, it is also what you focus on. For instance, if you're focusing on the thought that you don't have time in your day, you will find reasons to support that focus. However, if you instead concentrate (focus) your thoughts on how you could create more time (instead of demolish your time), I guarantee that you could move the needle in any direction that you desire. If you want to read more, make the time to read more. If you want to spend more time with family, orient your schedule around them, instead of whatever is taking its place.
At the end of your life, the only thing that remains is the same is how much we didn't do that we should have done. Regret is simple, yet so hard to accept. Simply, think about your life, where you want it to go, and define what's the most important to you and take action. Do not simply become another member of the analysis paralysis club. Ask yourself the right questions, take the corrective actions, and create the change you've been ever-so desiring in your life. You're awesome and you know it. Stop debilitating yourself by asking disempowering questions. Questions are indeed the answer and I believe that anyone and everyone has the ability and talent to be transparent with what they want and go find it.
